Anthony Edwards’ adidas AE 2 May Release in Late 2024/Early 2025

Update: A source with direct knowledge of adidas’ release plans has confirmed with Hypebeast that the model in question is not an upcoming Anthony Edwards shoe. Stay tuned for more on the next model in the AE signature line as it’s revealed, and read key details from the original article below for potential details on AE 2 release timing (descriptors of the model have been removed).

Original Story: Anthony Edwards and adidas set the basketball shoe market ablaze with the AE 1, Edwards’ first signature shoe, during the 2023-24 NBA season. Now, early news on the AE 2 has begun surfacing/

A previous report from Sole Retriever indicates that the AE 2 will utilize BOOST cushioning and either be released during the 2024 holiday season or the early days of 2025 with a MSRP of $130 USD, $10 USD more than his first signature model.

Edwards, of course, is one of the NBA’s most exciting young stars, leading the long-moribund Minnesota Timberwolves to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since the 2003-04 season when they were driven by Kevin Garnett — who, ironically enough, was an adidas Basketball athlete at the time — and even garnering comparisons to Michael Jordan along the way. Apart from his on-court feats, he’s also known for his personality, with the cheeky marketing campaign that accompanied the AE 1 garnering near-universal acclaim.

adidas has yet to make any official announcement regarding the AE 2, but stay tuned for more information as it’s made available.
