Vivienne Westwood’s FW24/25 Campaign Channels Faded Glamour

Vivienne Westwood is gearing up for the cooler seasons ahead with its new Fall/Winter 2024/25 campaign. Throughout the label’s extensive and celebrated history, it has been known for its signature cadence that glamour punk – illustrating elements of London subcultures and global styles through an artistically nuanced lens. For the latest collection and accompanying campaign, the label looks into those elements of faded glamour.

To bring that vision to life, Juergen Teller once again leads the photography charge. But in setting the stage, Vivienne Westwood’s creative director Andreas Kronthaler took the team to Margate, which is a town on England’s southeast coast. The images reveal Westwood’s continued affinity for fused elegance across dresses and even tailoring. For example, a black wool dress coat channels classic style notes, while pieces crafted in Lochcarron of Scotland tartan bounce against the surrounding concrete environment. Even a gold dress paired with sky-high boots is juxtaposed with the high-octane energy of a motorcycle.

“I went to Margate for the first time in the late 90s, it seemed to me the most quintessential English seaside place therefore I always wanted to do a campaign shoot there. Of course it has changed a lot since then. It’s a place I feel comfortable and welcome, I find the people extremely sweet and friendly,” said Kronthaler. “It is very picturesque and there is a certain light there which must have to do with the seaside air. It’s perfect for photographs. We shot in three locations, one was the Margate caves, the parking lot of Dreamland, and the Nayland Rock hotel.”
