Pharrell’s JOOPITER Announced Jackson Wang Metamorphosis Auction

Pharrell’s next JOOPITER auction will star 29 pieces from Jackson Wang’s personal archives. Titled Jackson Wang Metamorphosis: Athlete — Musician — Designer, the sale will feature all sorts of one-of-one items, including stage pieces and the performer’s old fencing uniforms.

Standout pieces include costumes and accessories from Wang’s Magic Man tour, which include custom Louis Vuitton designs and on-stage ear monitors, as well as “Team Wang” apparel, like velvet jackets and diamond rings. Wang fans with big pockets can also bid for the chance to go behind the scenes on his next music video set.

“I’m very grateful that I can share the highlights and important chapters of my first 30 years on earth — from sports to music to fashion,” said Jackson Wang. “All of these items are very meaningful to me. They may appear to be very different, but they all represent the same mindset. To me, the only difference among these chapters of my life would be the skill sets, what remains the same is the emphasis on creation.”

The auction is slated to run from June 17 to 24, and estimated bids range from $600 to $15,000 USD. Learn more here.

Marc Jacobs Reunited With Artist Stephen Sprouse for 40th-Anniversary Tote Bag

While serving as the creative director of Louis VuittonMarc Jacobs tapped New York artist Stephen Sprouse for what would become a historic accessories collaboration. In 2000, Jacobs, who first discovered the graffiti maker’s colorful works in 1984 while studying at the Parsons School of Design, asked Sprouse to cover the French luxury house’s signature trunks in his logomanic prints. The results became some of the most sought-after leather goods in the early aughts.

Now, 24 years later, Jacobs has reunited with the artist for a new 40th-anniversary bag collaboration under his namesake brand.

The honorary team-up salutes the life’s work of Sprouse, who passed away in 2004. In partnership with the late artist’s estate, Jacobs planted Sprouse’s classic graffiti text on his brand’s signature Tote Bag. The vivid green lettering spells out a quote from Sprouse: “Grant me the serenity to chill.”

Jacquemus Staged Its 15th-Anniversary Show in Capri

Private boats transported famous passengers, like Dua Lipa, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Manu Rios, through the deep-blue waters surrounding Capri, the Italian island where Jacquemus chose to stage his 15th-anniversary runway show for Fall/Winter 2024 on Monday. Their destination was Casa Malaparte, the villa designed by Italian rationalist architect Adalberto Libera for writer Curzio Malaparte in the 1930s — and the sartorial diving board for the Jacquemus label in 2009.

“I decided to create my brand after watching ‘Le Mépris’ from Jean-Luc Godard, being inspired by the beauty and modernity of his vision,” designer Simon Porte Jacquemus wrote on Instagram. Among many locales, the 1963 movie was filmed at Malaparte’s home, up on the 104-foot-high rocky spur of Punta Masullo. “Today I feel honored to be able to present our next show in Casa Malaparte.”

From a bird’s eye view, the honorary line offered a medley of Simon’s fan-favorite design signatures — Jacquemus-isms, some would call them. But overall, the spectacle was about more than just the clothing itself; it was an intimate celebration of a brand that, in its first decade and a half of its existence, has seized the eyes, formed the mood boards and opened the wallets of millions thanks to its expert world-building, sharp marketing strategies and sheer design expertise.

Thieves Stole More Than €6 million EUR Worth of Goods from Chanel’s Avenue Montaigne Boutique

At approximately 5:15 a.m. in Paris on Monday morning, Chanel’s Avenue Montaigne boutique was robbed of luxury goods estimated to be worth between €6 million EUR and €10 million EUR, according to WWD.

Four individuals reportedly drove a car directly into the front of the store, smashing its windows to break entry. After acquiring the brand’s high-priced items, the suspects then lit the vehicle on fire and escaped in a second car. “The individuals used a first vehicle to enter the establishment by breaking the window before fleeing in a second vehicle, taking goods from the store,” per AFP’s police source.

“We confirm that a ram-raid occurred in the Chanel boutique, located at 42 Avenue Montaigne in Paris, during the night of June 9 to 10, 2024. Fortunately, no employees were injured,” a spokesperson for Chanel told WWD. “A police investigation has been opened and we are working closely with the police to assist them in their inquiries.”
