Crenshaw Skate Club Honors Its Heritage in Juneteenth Collection

Crenshaw Skate Club has revealed its latest commemorative collection and it’s one that the brand’s founder Tobey McIntosh feels particularly proud of. In the California-centered outfitter’s Juneteenth delivery, the apparel pays tribute to prominent figures in black history and, specifically, pioneering black skaters who paved the way for brands like CSC.

Across a cohesive presentation of garments spanning graphic tees, button-downs and other cut-and-sew pieces, CSC intermingles both vintage and contemporary African diasporic imagery throughout.

Specifically, the collage button-up shirt stands out amidst the foray and really signals the intermingling of imagery from both time periods, leaning into an all-around grid-like pattern.

Elsewhere, the “Oath Tee” dominates the graphics department, printed with “A Skate Club’s Oath.” It reads as follows:

“I am a strong and proud skateboarder. I pledge to love and protect my fellow sisters and respect my fellow brothers. I have the courage of Campbell. The courage of Beasley. The leadership of Williams. The dream of Grimes. The wisdom of Barbier. Along with faith in the almighty. We will overcome.”

Check out the lookbook in the gallery above and cop a piece from CSC’s Juneteeth collection beginning on June 15 at 11th a.m. when the full range goes live on Crenshaw Skate Club’s official webstore.
