Milan Fashion Week has officially begun, and Adrian Appiolaza‘s Moschino is putting a quirky spin on the serious fashion occasion. While seeing a slow kickoff, the Creative Director’s inaugural menswear collection was here to get the party started. With plenty to live up to, Appiolaza did not disappoint, bringing out Moschino’s signature theatrics for Spring/Summer 2025.
The Italian sunshine bathed Moschino’s alfresco venue, adorned with charming wooden chairs and piles of luggage in all shapes and sizes. Digital heartbeats set the rhythm, transitioning into classic local songs before colliding with club-ready techno beats. Moschino’s “LOST AND FOUND” collection was a playful reflection of everyday citizens journeying from the city to the office, pizzerias, and football games, all while breaking the rules of traditional daily uniforms.
The co-ed collection featured menswear SS25 and womenswear Resort 2025, marching side by side while seamlessly standing alone. The first look was packed with mystery, featuring an oversized trench coat and dramatic top hat. Survival tailoring was packed with essentials on the go, ornamented with dozens of pockets to carry, key cards, pens, phones, credit cards, and more. Sunnyside-up eggs were cracked on genderless pinstriped suits, while Italian cuisine sizzled on pizza and watermelon clutches. Illustrative notes were pinned to form-fitting outerwear, shredding coats like discarded paperwork looking to escape the midday slump.
Italy’s red, white, and green flag hues landed on co-ed looks with bouncing football prints woven into knitwear destined for the pitch. Colosseum-inspired architecture lined silk shirting with an ancient feel, heading to the seaside in cascading picnic-pressed blazers with dangling gingham accents. Elsewhere, models walked out of the shower in towel robes and croissant accessories, preparing for showtime while taking Moschino toiletry bags down the runway. Appiolaza’s final looks were a tribute to 1990s Italian summertime, daydreaming about the countryside with slouchy coveralls, blooming ruffled skirts, and animalistic graphics that completed the collection.
