JW Anderson Is a Master of Manipulation for SS25

Jonathan Anderson is a master of manipulation. The Irish designer has filled his customary slot on the London Fashion Week schedule, presenting his latest womenswear collection after heading to Milan in June. JW Anderson is synonymous with an unmatched eye for detail, also migrating to his creative director gig at LOEWE, which stands proud on Parisian grounds.

JW Anderson’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection expanded on its whimsical mentality, playing with silk, leather, and glitter to create unrealistic silhouettes. The range also brought a new sense of elegance, balancing daily streetwear with elevated formalwear, resulting in a well-rounded wardrobe for any occasion. SS25 walked to a magical beat, pulling us into fantastical realms with dainty slip dresses printed with intangible buttons. Thigh-length dresses birth faux hoodies with stamped drawstrings, while inflated bomber jackets are reshaped into voluminous one-piece looks.

Minimalistic dresses flowed with the wind at every step, with skirts freezing in time up high. On the casual side, jumbo-sized sweater vests are cut to strips in rectangular patterns, accompanied by ballooned trousers tucked into gimmicky toy boots. JW Anderson’s curious ideals were bold and unafraid, reflected in rounded outerwear, arts-and-crafts-style garments, and knotted knitwear with slashed cutouts. The collection was closed by design-led scriptures on studious womenswear, showcasing Anderson’s innate ability to trick the eye while giving us an educational fashion lesson.
